15W-50 Viscosity Grade Expands Platinum Full Synthetic
November 2005 – Pennzoil® expanded its Pennzoil Platinum® line of synthetic motor oil to include a new 15W-50 viscosity grade, developed to meet the manufacturer specifications of premium import engines that have special viscosity requirements. This viscosity grade meets or exceeds the specifications for gasoline and engines of several European car manufacturers.

Pennzoil Platinum® Introduces the First Motor Oil for Hybrid Vehicles
Houston, November 2004 – Pennzoil® has introduced the first oil in the U.S.A. designed specifically for hybrid automobiles in 2004. A cross between a gas-powered car and an electric car, hybrids have become increasingly popular as a result of their excellent fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. As of August 2004, more than 50,000 hybrid vehicles had been sold in the United States, with J.D. Power and Associates estimating annual sales would climb to more than 412,000 by 2008.
